McKenzie is a pastor’s wife at CrosspointLA, author at With All Might, mom to three teenage boys, and a musician. She lives in Pasadena, CA and loves to teach and spend time with her family and friends.
McKenzie was raised in a Christian home, and at the age of five, her family began attending a vibrant, growing, new church in the Portland, Oregon area. Although she made a profession of faith at the age of 6, she had serious doubts about God and went through a season of intense depression in her early twenties. She ended up trusting Christ as her personal Savior at the age of twenty-four. At this point she, and her husband Phillip, were involved with a youth group and music ministry in a local church in Atlanta, Georgia. With her new found peace in God, she was able to grow in her Christian walk very quickly. An awesome foundation had been laid for her in her growing up years. The Lord gave her a heart to stick close to her pastor's wife and learn and help her as much as she possibly could. A few years later, God called her husband to be a pastor. That was another opportunity to rest in Christ completely as she learned so much more in this new facet of life and ministry. McKenzie and Phillip were passionate to reach out to the community God had called them to just outside of East Atlanta, and they saw Jesus Christ transform many lives and take a "white church" to a church that was a much better reflection of the community God had called them to serve.
Growing up on the West coast, McKenzie knew how desperately churches with a heart for reaching people for Jesus were needed, but God had not given a green light for their family to proceed in that direction. However, in 2014, God put it on both Phillip and McKenzie's heart to start praying for the need out West. That fall, God showed the Jones family that He wanted them to head out West to launch a new church so they began to pray about where he wanted them to go. After much prayer and loads Godly advice, they went on full-time deputation in the spring of 2015 and moved to California not knowing a soul in their new city in spring of 2016. Phillip, McKenzie, and their three boys worked as a team and started Crosspoint Baptist Church in Pasadena, CA in September of 2016. With all of the wild experiences, exciting stories and an immense love for the Bible, McKenzie has a passion to encourage ladies in their day-to-day lives as they search for the meaning of life, ask the tough questions, or are already a growing Christian desiring to just get closer to Jesus. Her greatest desire is to show others this life can only truly be lived to the fullest as we are, "Strengthened with all might according to his glorious power..." Col. 1:11
McKenzie has had the opportunity share her passion for Jesus and encouragement for ladies at conferences and events all over the US.
